On 25th July 2024, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Classes XIA and XIC to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas. This day marks the victory of the Indian armed forces in the Kargil War, honouring the bravery and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought to protect the nation.
The assembly focused on remembering the heroic and unforgettable deeds of many war heroes. Students paid tribute to the valour and courage of soldiers such as Captain Vikram Batra, who is renowned for his bravery and the iconic phrase "Yeh Dil Maange More," and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. They also paid a tribute to Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, who displayed exceptional bravery and leadership, leading his platoon to capture crucial enemy positions. Another hero remembered was Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, who showcased extraordinary courage and determination in the face of danger.
In addition to these tributes, a patriotic song was sung to inspire and motivate the young Dharavites. The song filled the assembly with a sense of pride and patriotism, reinforcing the importance of remembering and honouring the sacrifices made by the soldiers for the safety and sovereignty of the nation. The assembly was a heartfelt and poignant reminder of the bravery of the Indian armed forces and their unwavering dedication to the nation.
