SCHEME OF EVALUATION
Classes Pre-Nursery to II
-
- There will be no written test or exam for these classes.
- There will be a continuous comprehensive assessment of the child's progress.
- Term I – April to September
- Term II – October to March
Classes III to V
- Unit Tests will be held in all subjects for all classes according to the schedule given in the Almanac. This will consist of assessment of pen and paper test, homework/classwork, assignments, projects, presentations, debates, discussions, quizzes etc.
- Four sets of Unit Tests will be conducted throughout the year. Each Unit Test will comprise of Pen and Paper test for 20 marks and internal assessments for 5 marks. Notebook submission and subject enrichment activities for respective subjects form an important component of the internal assessment. Evaluation will be based on student's continuous academic performance during the year.
- For Information Technology, the first and third Unit Tests will be Pen and Paper tests and the second and fourth Unit Tests will be based on Practical and viva voice.
Please note: Unit Test 4 for Class V will be of 50 marks each (pen and paper test for 40 marks and internal assessment for 10 marks) in all the subjects except General Knowledge and Information Technology.
- Grades will also be awarded in the following areas of learning: Visual Art, Performing Art, Health & Physical Education and Discipline (will be reflected in the final term only).
- Students scoring 33% and above in each subject and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the next class.
- Half day/Short leave will not be granted under any circumstances on the weekly test days, in case a child writes the test and then leaves, he/she will be marked absent for the day. In an emergency, written permission should be taken from the Principal.
- Students found using unfair means during any Unit Test will be awarded a zero in that particular test. These students will not be eligible for any award and school appointment/post in class V. No retests will be held for these students.
Classes VI - VIII
- The academic year will be divided into two terms and examination will be held at the end of each term.
* Term I-From April to middle of September (with examination in the month of September)
* Term II-From end of September to middle of March (with examination in the month of March)
- The syllabus in all the subjects will be divided into two terms.
Note: For Classes VI- VIII Term II will have some relevant component of Term I syllabus which has a bearing on the next year's curriculum.
- Unit Tests will be held in all the subjects for all classes according to the schedule given in the almanac. 4. Evaluation will be based on the student's continuous academic performance during the year. Notebook submission and subject enrichment activities for respective subjects form an important component of the internal assessment. Allocation of marks for Unit Test and Term Examination is given below:
Term1 Unit Tests: 10%
Term Examination: 40%
Term II Unit Tests: 10%
Term II Examination: 40%

- Attendance in Unit Test is compulsory. Students with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to sit for the TermI/Term II examination.
- Grades will also be given in following areas of learning: Visual Art, Performing Art, Health & Physical Education and Discipline.
- Students found using unfair means during any Unit Test or Term Examination will be marked zero in that subject. No Retests will be held for such students. These students will not be eligible for any academic award or school appointment/post.
Classes IX-XII
- The academic year will be divided into two terms and examination will be held at the end of each term.
- For Classes IX and XI - At the end of the session, the student will be assessed/evaluated on the basis of the entire syllabus covered in both the terms.
Term I-From April to middle of September (with examination in the month of September).
Term II -From end of September to middle of March (with examination in the month of March).
- For Classes X and XII
* Mid Term Examination will be held in May.
* First Term Examination will be held in September with the rest of the school.
* Pre Board I and Pre Board II Examination will be held in December and January respectively.
- Unit Tests will be held in all subjects for all classes according to the schedule given in the almanac.
- Weightage of marks for Unit Tests and Term Examination for the final evaluation is given below:
* For class XI
Term I Unit Tests: 10%
Term I Examination: 40%
Term II Unit Tests: 10%
Term II Examination: 40%
* For classes IX, X and XII, the weightage of marks for Unit Test and Term Examination will be as per
CBSE guidelines.
- Students scoring 33% and above in each subject and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the next class.

- Grades will also be given in the following areas of learning: Work experience & Physical Education,
Visual, Performing Arts, Life skills etc.
