On Friday, 23 August, Dharav High School, Jaipur celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and devotion. The event aimed to bring the stories and teachings of Lord Krishna to life for the students. The celebration began with a portrayal of the birth of Lord Krishna, featuring the depiction of his parents Mata Devaki, Vasudeva and the evil King Kansa.
The students enthusiastically participated, dressing up as characters from Krishna's life such as Radha, Sudama, Gopikas and Devaki. The Krishna Jhoola attracted everyone’s attention where the idol of baby Krishna, Ladoo Gopal was placed on a small cot, filling the air with joy and festive spirit. The children enjoyed rocking the cradle of baby Krishna. Each class took part in role plays, reenacting significant scenes from Krishna's early life, capturing the essence of the occasion.
In addition to the performances, a story-telling session was held to narrate the story of Janmashtami, helping the children understand the festival's importance in a fun and engaging manner. The students also took part in various festival related activities, including singing devotional songs and decorating their outside classroom area with themes related to Krishna's life.
