“Education is Liberation, knowledge is Power!”
A one day CBSE workshop on National Education Policy 2020 was organized at Dharav High school, Jaipur on Wednesday, 20 March 2024. The main objective of this Workshop was to create awareness about the newly launched National Education Policy-2020 amongst teachers and to familiarize them with the skills to help them understand its nuances, curriculum changes, shift in the pedagogical skills and its implementation for the 360 degree holistic development of its stake holders, the students.
Ms. Rita Bhargava and Ms. Arshi Malik, the resource persons, shed light on the creation of a new structure in place of old, replacing 10+2 with 5+3+3+4. She discussed about the redesigned report cards which will be a “holistic, 360-degree, multidimensional report that will include self-assessment, peer assessment and teacher assessment.
Bloom’s taxonomy was re-emphasized in details to analyse, understand and evaluate the child’s performance. The resource persons concluded the session by emphasizing on the challenges faced in New Education Policy – 2020. Pertinent points related to NEP –
1. Integration of vocational and academic streams.
2. Radical changes in stress free examination systems to assess real learning.
3. Improvement instead of the passing of judgments.
The Principal, Ms Seema Sehajpal, emphasized on the need for Educators to understand and embrace the concepts of integrated and multidisciplinary approaches and the need for development of 21st century skills.
The workshop was attended by 60 teachers. It was interactive where doubts were readily cleared by the resource person. It enabled the teachers to gain clear insights on the intent of the topic.
