Sow and Grow Activity : Classes I & II

“Why try to explain miracles to children when you can have them plant a garden.”
-Janet Kilburn Phillips

Sow and Grow Activity was organized at DHS for the students of classes I and II. DHS Principal, ma’am Seema Sehajpal supported this noble endeavour by helping the children plant Amaltas tree saplings around the school grounds. The Principal, along with the teachers, helped sensitise the children towards the environment, encouraging compassion and a sense of ownership for their little plantlings.
Class-II got different vegetables to sow like radish, cauliflower and potatoes; class-I got herbs like coriander, basil and mint. The activity left the children with a promise of a beautiful harvest. Each class was also made to learn a different rhyme teaching them that from tiny seeds grow mighty trees!
Children follow by example. The best thing you can do is to show them that you care for the planet, and they will follow suit.
