Visit to Insolation Energy Ltd.- Classes XI-XII (Science)

‘Industrial visits provide students with a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, giving them an insight into the real world of science and technology’.
Senior students of classes XI and XII Science of Dharav High School, were provided with an opportunity on 24 April 2023 to visit Insolation Energy Ltd., a plant generating solar energy. The purpose of the visit was to provide them with an insight into the world of renewable energy and to learn how it is produced on a large scale.
A team of experts briefed the students on the installation of solar panels in the plant; the working of solar panels; the way electricity is generated and how the solar panels are connected to the main grid to provide electricity to homes and business units. They learned about the technology working behind the panels which makes them capable of converting sunlight into electricity. They were also shown the control room where the operators monitor the output of the panels and make adjustments as needed.
To understand the production of solar energy from a broader perspective, inquisitive students threw an array of questions to clarify the doubts. They learned about the benefits of solar energy, its low carbon footprint, and its potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Overall, the visit to the solar plant was a highly educational and inspiring experience for the students. It opened up a real avenue for them to learn about renewable energy and its potential to revolutionize the way we generate electricity. The students left with a newfound appreciation for the power of the sun and the role it can play in providing clean and sustainable energy for future generations.
